Belgrade, 27 February 2006 - The UN Special Envoy Martti Ahtisaari has arrived in Belgrade yesterday where he is to meet with senior state officials of Serbia & Montenegro and discuss with them the overall progress in the negotiations process on Kosovo status. Ahtisaari has scheduled meetings with Serbian President Boris Tadic, Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica, President of SaM Svetozar Marovic and SaM Foreign Minister Vuk Draskovic. |

- EU, NATO and OSCE discuss post status arrangements |

A special team has been set up to discuss these issues, and apart from UNMIK it consists of European Union, NATO and OSCE. Prishtinë, 27 February 2006 - Head of UN Mission in Kosovo, Søren Jessen-Petersen is discussing with representatives of the main international organizations on the needs Kosovo will have after the solution of its status. In these meetings, although there is discussion about the next international presence, the final status of Kosovo is not prejudged. Today the SRSG is going to meet with NATO chief Jaap de Hoop Scheffer and the head of the EU diplomacy Javier Solana. |

Speaking points by Mr Olli Rehn Member of the European Commission, responsible for Enlargement "The Western Balkans" European Parliament, AFET Committee Our message to Belgrade was that they have to fully engage in status talks and to have a more realistic and constructive attitude. At the same time, we stressed to the Kosovo-Albanians that protection of minorities and decentralisation measures are key, that reforms remain necessary and that they also have to make forthcoming and proactive proposals during the status talks. In parallel they need to speed up standards implementation. |
