PRISHTINA - Tuesday, 7 March 2006 -  Kosovo Serb leader Oliver Ivanovic said that he and his political affiliates in Kosovo are willing to meet with Kosovo mandatary Agim Cheku.

Ivanovic said that if the Serbian Kosovo List is invited to meet with Cheku, they will gladly accept.

"I care about being part of the process, but I am not sure if we can accept any offers, if there are any, since it is a fairly delicate moment for us." Ivanovic said.

He said that Serb officials in Kosovo are well aware that if they want to do anything to help the Serbian community, it must be done through the Kosovo institutions, which is motivating them to do everything necessary in this situation.

- Serbia: Ceku Unacceptable
Written by News Desk
Friday, 03 March 2006

Serbian Government has deemed the Kosovo’s nomination of Agim Ceku for prime minister unacceptable, stating that he is facing war crimes indictments, the Serbian B92 comments.

Thaci, Kushner, Jackson, Ceku, ClarkBelgrade, 3 March 2006 - The Serbian Government’s Media Cooperation Office’s Chief, Srdjan Djuric, said that the War Crimes Tribunal has indicted Ceku for war crimes charges, adding that there are no instances in Europe or around the world where a country or state’s prime minister is indicted for war crimes, the medi publication points out.
“The War Crimes Court has issued an indictment against Agim Ceku and an international warrant for his arrest is pending. Today in Europe, and throughout the entire globe most likely, there are no prime ministers who are accused of war crimes. For the Serbian Government, it is completely unacceptable to have a man, who should be in court facing war crimes charges, be elected as prime minister or for any other political position. The officials of the international community who are responsible for Kosovo have an obligation to protect the elementary norms of civilisation and stop Agim Ceku from being elected and make a mockery of the values which a democratic society is founded on.” Djuric told B92.
