Prishtinë, August 24 (Kosov@News) - “No comment” was everything that the EU representative for Kosova’s status, Wolfgang Ischinger said to Kosovar media during his two-day visit to Prishtina.
During the first day of the Kosovo visit, EU's representative in the Kosovo Troika met with Kosovo President Fatmir Sejdiu, Prime Minister Agim Çeku and ORA leader Veton Surroi. He also met with the Assembly President Kolë Berisha, PDK leader Hashim Thaçi and Coordinator of Negotiating Team working groups Blerim Shala. According to the daily Koha Ditore, the EU official gave instructions to the Kosovo side before it goes to Vienna on 30 August. The paper quotes sources as saying that the reason for Ischinger’s visit was for him to become familiarized with the Pristina stand. The same sources said it was Ischinger who insisted on having closed-door meetings with Kosovo leaders far from media attention. According to Kosovar representatives, Ischinger did not propose any idea for the status; he just listened to Kosovar leaders’ viewpoints. |
