DURRËS, Albania - March 1, 2006 -- Prime Minister Sali Berisha and his Croatian and Macedonian counterparts, Ivo Sanader and Vlado Buckovski, agreed on Tuesday (28 February) to step up mutual co-operation, with an eye to their countries' faster admission into NATO. Meeting in town of Durres, the three again expressed hopes for an invitation no later than 2008. They also discussed regional issues, economic co-operation, and reforms currently under way. The three countries, together with the United States, are signatories to the Adriatic Charter, intended to boost co-operation in achieving the shared goal of NATO membership.
