PRISHTINA - Tuesday, 7 March 2006 - Kosovo Serb leader Oliver Ivanovic said that he and his political affiliates in Kosovo are willing to meet with Kosovo mandatary Agim Cheku.
Ivanovic said that if the Serbian Kosovo List is invited to meet with Cheku, they will gladly accept.
"I care about being part of the process, but I am not sure if we can accept any offers, if there are any, since it is a fairly delicate moment for us." Ivanovic said.
He said that Serb officials in Kosovo are well aware that if they want to do anything to help the Serbian community, it must be done through the Kosovo institutions, which is motivating them to do everything necessary in this situation.
Ivanovic met in Pristina yesterday with UNMIK Chief Soren Jessen Petersen to talk about the Kosovo status discussions, particularly decentralisation and the formation of the new Kosovo Government.
"We will try to help out both the Pristina and Belgrade teams. We will help the Pristina team by informing UNMIK of our stances, proposals and ideas, and the Belgrade team through our representatives who have ties with the team and through written proposals which we will forward to them." Ivanovic said. B92 |
