Prishtinë, 12 october 2006 - The European Commission spokesperson Emma Udwin stated at a press conference day before yesterday that Kosovo could not be compared with other regions, including southern Caucasus.

Stressing that "we view this situation as a special one, which must be assessed on the basis of what is specific to it. Kosovo has had a very special experience with Serbia, which cannot be compared with the cases of Southern Ossetya or Abkhasia," she added: "Therefore, we do not see that a decision on Kosovo could be a precedent for other situations," Belgrade media reported.
