15 October 2006 - ČAČAK, Serbia -- The police in Čačak detained 37 fans after a racist incident during Serbia’s premier league football match Sunday.
The police say the game was interrupted for about 10 minutes during the first half after a group of home side Borac supporters appeared wearing white hoods and outfits reading “Ku Klux Klan”, in order to insult their side’s player Mike Tamvanyera. The group of hooligans also wore a banner reading, “Go away, no one likes you here”. The game between Borac and Voždovac was continued after the police took the racist fans out of the stadium. The police will issue an official statement later in the day . Source: Beta |
