Belgrade, 29 October 2006 - KosovoNews - According to the Republican Election Commission, until 6:00 PM, 47.03% of eligible voters in Serbia went to the polls. As the closing time approaches, the number of irregularities is increasing rapidly. There are reports that citizens were allowed to vote without showing ID cards, and others were allowed to vote for multiple members of their families, friends and relatives.
Marko Blagojevic CESID polling organization said that these irregularities are not occurring in every polling station, but they are very serious violations of the voting procedures. The Republican Election Commission has been informed of these irregularities. Out of the 47.04% of the voters, 47.42 are from central Serbia, 38% of voters in Vojvodina and 46.67% of voters in Belgrade. He also added that it is not impossible for the 3.32 million votes to be cast by the end of the voting period (8:00 PM). |
